Francis X. Smith , CPA

Francis X. Smith is a certified public accountant and the senior partner at Smith & Company CPA’s, PLLC, Bardstown, Kentucky.  Mr. Smith has been in the practice of public accounting since 1968. Prior to that, he was a field auditor with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the Louisville, Kentucky district.  Mr. Smith earned a B.A. in Accounting from Bellarmine College and passed all parts of the CPA Examination on his initial attempt.

Mr. Smith is a current member and past chairman of the Bardstown Historic Development Corporation (Spalding Hall), a non-profit organization, and has been an officer of the Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  He was a member of the Finance Committee of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Health Corporation, and was a director of First Farmers Bank Holding Company and Town & Country Bank and Trust Company until the mandatory retirement age.

His current professional memberships include American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Smith is married to Lucy G. Strange.  They have four children:  Francis X. Smith II, Stephanie Smith Seeger, Janice Smith Ritchie, and Gregory Eric Smith.

Francis X. Smith II, CPA


Francis is a graduate of Bethlehem High School and a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BS in accounting. He is a CPA and has been a tax advisor/preparer for 22 years. He is a member of the Bardstown Rotary Club, and holds memberships with the Kentucky Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s. Francis is a director for Your Community Bank's Nelson County territory. He is married to Aynsley M. McElroy. They have two daughters Ellery and Lucy Ferris. He is an avid golfer and he and his wife are both certified scuba divers.

 

 

Jason O. Strange, CPA

Jason O. Strange, CPA is a partner of Smith & Company CPA’s, PLLC and has been in public accounting since 2002.  He received his Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky.  He began his career in accounting with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (Washington D.C.).  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Government Accountants, the Kentucky Association of Government Accountants, and the Kentucky Association of School Business Officials.  Jason and his wife, Ashley (Bleemel) reside in Bardstown with their two sons, Thomas and Joseph.  They are parishioners of St. Joseph Church.
